Advanced PPG pilots can look forward to new levels in stability, agility and speed. SWING's paramotor brand POWERPLAY has developed the SCORPIO, the new reflex wing, and tested it according to the most exacting of considerations. In charge of this was multiple German champion and record holder Peter Schulz, who followed every step of development extremely carefully and thus had considerable input into the development of the SCORPIO.

The Scorpio can be launched perfectly even in 0-wind or variable wind because it has little tendency to overshoot. The pilot must hold the canopy slightly at its vertex. Once in its element, the Scorpio can be flown easily and very dynamically. Fuel economy and its high speed range make the sporty Scorpio suitable for all advanced recreational pilots who enjoy flying cross-country, or those who are considering the idea of entering competitions to match themselves against other pilots.

The SCORPIO incorporates all of the latest technologies in paraglider development such as:

• Leading edge reinforced using nylon wires, giving perfect aerodynamic performance;
• 3D-shaping and hybrid lines
• "ring reefing" system and stabiliser brakes for exceptional manoeuvrability,
• positive/negative trimmer system and 2-phase speed system for wide speed range
• High directional stability due to crossover line system and variable offset at the wing tipsl

The trimmer system allows the pilot to slow the Scorpio by approx. 3km/h for launch and landing and to increase cruise speed by approx. 7 km/h. Vmax. is 60+ km/h depending on the wing-loading.

Scorpio is an amazing wing. Its inflation is incredibly easy: even without wind, wing inflates effortlessly over the head. In flight, what I like the most is the feeling of stability for a such dynamic wing! Even in strong conditions, Scorpio absorbs turbulence for the comfort of the pilot. Your Swing Team

Von Flug zu Flug lernte ich das gute Stück besser kennen und bin nach unzählig vielen Starts und ca.16 Stunden Flugzeit restlos begeistert. Super Handling (am Boden wie in der Luft) hohe Geschwindigkeit bei offenen Trimmern "Liebe auf den zweiten Blick". -  Stefan Zorn

Für's Erste bin ich restlos begeistert. Der Umstieg vom Mistral 5 ist überhaupt kein Problem. Start und Landung kamen mir eher sogar noch einfacher vor. Ich habe mich immer sicher und wohl unter dem Scorpio gefühlt, obwohl ich bisher noch keinerlei Erfahrung mit Reflexprofilen hatte. Wenn’s das Wetter wieder zulässt, werde ich als Nächstes das Fliegen mit offenen Trimmern und später mit Beschleuniger testen – bin schon mal sehr gespannt! - Markus Schmid

Am letzten Wochenende konnte ich nun endlich den Scorpio testfliegen.

Ein wunderschöner Flügel. Das Startverhalten hat mich echt umgehauen. Bedingt durch die Windstille konnte ich zwar nur Vorwärtsstarts testen, aber die waren ein Traum. So leicht, schnell und zielstrebig wie die Kappe hoch kommt war schon beeindruckend. Selbst bei gewolltem Seitenwind ging alles sauber ab. TOLL!

Ich habe bis dato 3 andere Reflexschirme getestet, nur einer davon wollte so schön und flott um die Ecke wie der Scorpio. Egal ob mit Bremse oder Wingtip, beschleunigt oder unbeschleunigt, der Schirm macht irre viel Spaß.

Selbst das Extremflugverhalten (Klapper 50%, Stall, Frontklapper, Abstiegsmöglichkeiten) waren für so einen Schirm wunderbar einfach zu beherrschen. Die Landungen (insgesamt 4 Flüge mit einer Flugzeit von 1,45h) ist übrigens trotz der hohen Geschwindigkeit so etwas von einfach, das ich mich glatt unter einem Schulschirm dachte. Rundum, das wird mein neuer Motorschirmflügel. Einzig der Spritverbrauch bei offenem Trimmer von >5 l/h ist gewöhnungsbedürftig. Leistung kostet halt. - Dennis Bollin 

Bin heute den Scorpio geflogen, etwas ängstlich aber sehr begeistert. Ich finde er startet auch schnell und man ist schnell von A nach B, braucht aber auch viel Sprit.

Also ganz kurz - ich war ein wenig skeptisch vorher. Bin also mit gemischten Gefühlen da ran gegangen und habe den ganz schön ran genommen... :) Ihr braucht Euch keinen Kopf machen, richtig negativ ist da nix !!

Er hat 'ne Super Endgeschwindigkeit mit offenem Trimmer, ist sehr sehr wendig und startet recht simpel. - Jupp Meis
